As this week’s featured project we are featuring double hung windows and a half-round window that we installed for a repeat customer. Our customer wanted to replace their previous windows with new ones that would match the look and style of their other windows while also complementing the style of their home. We installed three double hung windows, a twin double hung window factory mulled, and a half round window. All of the double hung windows contain flat grids and all of the windows are finished in white.
Double hung windows are the most popular choice among homeowners due to their traditional look and easy access, making them perfect for any room in the house. Double hung windows contain two operable sashes that move vertically in the frame and have counterbalance mechanisms that hold the sash open or closed. This makes double hung windows easy to clean because of the variety of ways that you can tilt and open them – this is especially convenient for homes with more than one level.
Double Hung After
Their twin double hung windows were joined together through a process called window mulling.
Window mulling is a process in which two or more windows are joined together by their frames. New York Sash mulled windows provide strength and performance unmatched by other offerings. Built with clean lines, unparalleled strength and design flexibility our structural mulling options fit any opening and design requirement.
Above the double hung windows on the second level we installed a half-round window on top. Geometric windows can add visual interest and character to any home’s architecture, and is a great option for homeowners who want to add something new to their home. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes ranging from half-round and triangle to everything in between.
