Pain Point Series: Is Your Bathroom a Safety Hazard or a Sanctuary?
We recently worked with a homeowner in Rome, NY who was facing a common problem. Their existing bathroom wasn't just outdated—it was becoming inconvenient and potentially unsafe. They needed a space that looked beautiful but, more importantly, functioned safely for the long term.
Here are the specific "pain points" this project addressed and the custom solutions we installed to fix them.
The Stability Struggle
One of the biggest anxieties in any bathroom is the fear of slipping. Standard bathrooms rarely come with adequate support, leaving you to rely on towel bars or walls for balance—which is a recipe for disaster.
The Solution: We installed a comprehensive safety package featuring multiple Brushed Nickel Grab Bars, including a 12-inch bar with hand grips and a 16-inch bar. These provide sturdy, reliable support exactly where it's needed most.
The Standing Issue
Standing for a long shower isn't always comfortable or possible for everyone. But bulky medical shower chairs can take up too much space and ruin the look of a bathroom.
The Solution: We integrated a Teak Folding Shower Seat with a Grey Metal finish. This adds a touch of spa-like luxury while providing a safe place to sit. Best of all, it folds up when not in use, maximizing space in the shower base.
The Splash Zone
Old shower curtains or flimsy doors can leak, leading to water on the floor (another slip hazard!).
The Solution: We installed a stunning Basco Barn-Style Shower Door with clear glass and Brushed Nickel hardware. This modern rolling door system not only saves space but also provides a watertight seal, keeping the rest of the bathroom dry and safe.
Is Your Bathroom Working Against You?
If you are dealing with a bathroom that feels unsafe, uncomfortable, or just plain outdated, you don't have to live with it. This Rome project proves that you can combine safety features like grab bars and seats with high-design elements like barn doors and stone-look walls to create a space that's not only beautiful but functional.
