The Mohawk Valley had a lot to be proud of recently as we sent a piece of that local pride to Music City.
Our CEO, Jill Hayes, traveled to Nashville, TN, to participate in the national celebration and filming for the 2026 Remarkable Women event. Following her recognition as the Eyewitness News Remarkable Woman for our region earlier this year, Jill represented Central New York on a national stage, joining a select group of women from across the country.
This prestigious initiative recognized women who led, served, and inspired through their professional achievements and selflessness—qualities that Jill has brought to our office and our community every single day for over three decades.
A Legacy of Leadership and Dedication
Jill’s impact on New York Sash began at the very beginning—she co-founded the company alongside her husband, Scot, in 1989. Over the course of 30-plus years, she worked tirelessly to grow the business from its early roots into the region’s leader in windows, doors, and bath remodeling.
Throughout her journey, Jill has been the driving force behind our company’s evolution. Her leadership was never just about business growth; it was about building a culture of excellence and ensuring that every project met the high standards of a family-owned operation. Her career has been defined by a “people-first” philosophy, mentoring generations of staff in Whitesboro and ensuring every customer received the “utmost professionalism.” This award is a testament to the decades of hard work she has invested in making New York Sash a household name in the Mohawk Valley.
A Heart for the Mohawk Valley
Jill’s work never stopped at the showroom doors. Her dedication to local causes has left a permanent mark on the Mohawk Valley, and her trip to Nashville allowed her to share that spirit of service with a national audience.
- The American Heart Association: As a long-standing leader and advocate, Jill was instrumental in driving awareness and support for heart health across the region, serving in various leadership capacities to further their mission.
- Leatherstocking Council (Scouting America): Her service to the local Scouting community highlighted her belief in investing in the next generation of leaders and supporting youth programs throughout our area.
- The New York Sash Teddy Bear Toss: Jill has been a driving force behind this beloved holiday tradition. For over 20 years, she has helped spearhead the collection of thousands of stuffed animals for local children in need, turning a hockey game into a massive community-wide display of generosity.
The national recognition by Eyewitness News celebrated exactly what we have seen in the office for years: a leader who leads by example and gives back to her community without hesitation.
